Resume Revisions

I have begun reviewing the first drafts of your resumes. Below I have listed some good one-liners that might be used in a resume. Remember that I want you to use power words like covered, displayed, organized, prepared, introduced, calculated, operated, coordinated, and collaborated. Also, please don't just copy the template-change it to meet your needs and to describe your experiences. Let's keep improving these over the next couple of weeks.

Covered phones and front desk on a regular basis.

Displayed the ability to type 30-40 words per a minute

Organized and alphabetized advertisements

Prepared and gave presentations to middle school students

Introduced a new filing method that has made the office more effecient.

Calculated various loan payments

Operated various pieces of office equipment (copier, fax machine, shredder)

Coordinated the handling of high-priority paperwork

Collaborated with bank tellers to evaluate loans

Week of March 10th

Some students have already completed their required college visit. If you have done this please turn in the College Visit Summary Sheet. This is a requirement for successfully completing the semester. Our next assignment will be to create a resume. I will email each of you a template. You need to take this template and add in your own information. This is also a Hire4Ed requirement. Please email this to me when you have finished. If you want to create a resume from scratch, feel free to do this if you want.

Lastly, I am still missing some copies of the Beetles and Angels book. Please avoid this $10 charge by returning the book. Have a great week.

Week of January 26th

Please return the book "Of Beetles and Angels" so that you don't get charged $10.

Our first project this semester will be a college visit. Check your email because I will be sending you a survey, which will ask you to select your top 3 choices from a list that I have compiled.

Congratulation so our award recipients last evening: Angelica, Raven, DeVar, Alejandra, and Dominique.

On our most recent performance reviews 91% of our students were rated as Good or Outstanding by their work supervisors. Keep up the great work. I will begin meeting with all of you this week to go over these reviews.

Week of January 20th

Welcome to the beginning of a new semester. I have a few notes for you to be aware of.

  • Internship Seminar is now a pass/fail course. There will be approximately four projects throughout the semester. To pass this class all assignments must be completed in a satisfactory manner.

  • We have just completed an audit of student timesheets. If you are missing timesheets there is a possibility that you will not receive credit for your internship, as we have no proof that you actually worked. If you are not turning in timesheets, I suggest you start now. You have been warned.

  • Please drop off the book "Of Beetles and Angels." I will have a box located in my office.

  • I will begin meeting with each of you next week to go over your latest performance review. Please continue to work hard and do your best.

Have a great week!
